No-Contact Orders (50C)

Sexual assault or stalking victims who do not have a qualifying relationship with the perpetrator, can file for a no-contact or ā€œ50Cā€ order, titled No-Contact Order For Stalking Or Nonconsensual Sexual Conduct. The process is similar to getting a domestic violence protective order. However, police will not arrest a defendant for violating a 50C order. 50C orders can only be enforced by a judge by holding the defendant in contempt of court.
